Method & sources
How we calculate and where the numbers come from.
Formula
Grant = eligible costs × funding rate, rounded down to whole euros.
Eligible costs: your costs, up to the cost cap (28.000 € until 31.01.2027, then 750 € less at each step).
Funding rate: basic grant 30% + climate bonus + income bonus, at most 70% (80% for incomes up to 30.000 €).
Bonuses
Climate bonus: only for owners who live in the house, when replacing working oil, coal, gas floor or night storage heating, or working gas or wood heating that is at least 20 years old. 16% until 31.01.2027, then 4 points less every six months.
Income bonus: taxable household income up to 30.000 €: 40%; up to 40.000 €: 30%; up to 50.000 €: 10%. With a child, limits are 10.000 € higher.
What is not final
From Q1 2027, heat pumps not made in the EU are set to get only 15% basic grant. The start date has not been published, so from 01.01.2027 we show a range.
Replacing renewable heating in use since 2008 will probably no longer be funded from 2027.
